Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, Nigerian telecom executive Bella Disu, and prominent investor Jim Ovia, were among a group of more than 150 global business leaders who attended the 2019 Choose France International Business Summit which took place at the Chateau de Versailles, France, on Monday, January 21, 2019.
The business leaders met with French President Emmanuel Macron at a dinner organized to promote France’s attractiveness as a business environment. The French government also used the summit to publicize major investments and partnerships involving French companies.
During the event, Bella Disu, who is the Vice-Chairman of Nigerian mobile telecoms giant Globacom, and daughter of billionaire Mike Adenuga, announced a deal with Nokia Alcatel-Lucent, a global telecom equipment manufacturing company, to supply, install, and integrate a new SurePay Intelligent Network platform to improve Globacom’s services in Nigeria. According to an issued press release, Globacom also presented a purchase order (P.O.) to Vocalcom Technology, another French company, to enhance Globacom’s Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and Contact center solutions.
