On June 5th 2022, a mass shooting occurred at a Catholic Church in the city of Owo in Ondo State, leaving 40 people killed and 80 people injured from the attack.

On behalf of the Bella Disu Foundation, Mrs Bella Disu reached out to financially support a nonprofit organization, whose workers were rapidly transporting safe blood to the hospital where victims were receiving urgent medical care. In a tweet, she wrote, “In difficult times like these, I implore you to lend a helping hand to those in need of assistance. The BOAT Foundation has been helping to transport safe blood to the Federal Medical Centre, where victims of the Owo Massacre are receiving treatment. Please reach out to see how you can support/donate. May God grant the souls of the departed rest and provide a balm of healing to their families.”

The Bella Disu Foundation donated funds to the BOAT Foundation, to help in securing ample medical supplies and pints of blood to save the victims lives.
